I used to ask why bad things kept happening in my life—
What had I done to deserve the pain?
But over time, I’ve come to see that those hard chapters weren’t punishment.
They were preparation.
They led me here.
Like my horses, I’m learning to live more fully in the moment—
to soak in the sunrise,
to lose myself in the shape of a drifting cloud.
I’m finding peace in the quiet,
strength in the stillness,
and joy in the small things.

Lessons from My Herd
Each one of them has been a teacher:
Echo taught me to live in the moment—to slow down and notice the world through her sensitive eyes.
Yuki reminds me daily to face life with courage, no matter how young or unsure I feel.
Stormy taught me to be myself without apology, even if it means being a little wild.
Spook showed me that life is precious, and even the quietest among us leave the deepest mark.

The Photo I Didn’t Mean to Take
The image below?
It was a complete accident—captured when the saddle bumped my phone out of the horn bag while I was riding Echo.
And yet, it says everything.
Sometimes the most honest moments happen when we’re not trying to capture anything at all.
It became a metaphor for where I’m at:
Half in the frame, half in the clouds.
Letting go of control.
Letting the journey shape the image.
Letting go, looking up, and trusting where the ride takes me.
Because the beauty was never in the perfection—
It’s always been in the becoming.

🐾 Note from the Field
Life isn’t about the destination.
It’s the journey.
And sometimes, it’s the blurry, unplanned moments that turn out to be the most beautiful
